Films without Dialogue
For homework, watch one “dialogue-free” movie from the list
How did the lack of dialogue effect the movie?
Were you able to follow the plot?
Did the visuals become more important in the absence of spoken dialogue?
Film : Belleville Rendez-vous (2003)

Kenny Model Cont.
I have Been Working on my model of Kenny For the past few days.
I started with some feathers and then moved onto the base body model.
Getting The Base body shape was a bit of a challenge for me. as i researched into Bird Anatomy a lot of birds have a bent spine that sits on a angle of 70-80 degrees. My first attempt ignored this as i wanted the model to be more anthropomorphic. giving him a straight spine and aiming for a more human skeleton. This looked really weird with the legs and i was struggling to build a smooth bend into the tail.
to compensate for this i built the tail and feet and lined them up with the body then started to manipulate and alter the body to fit the curvature of the body that i required to connect the legs and tail.
This was an strange method to reach a end goal other than creating the base mesh ans just refining it. I chose to instead segment and build the model piece by piece. My reasoning for this comes from my previous two models (Trev and Will). My limited understanding of there anatomy and how they move made creating the models difficult and i wasn't able to fully achieve the design i was a aiming for.
by using this segmented method i could focus on one aspect or feature of the animal and make sure i achieve the desired look. as well as being able to learn on a smaller more focused scale and then putting that knowledge together to build the character. like a Lego figure.

Issue: Connecting the Body to the Legs
Kenny.
I Started My Model Of Kenny The Kea. I decided to leave this model till last as I felt it need the most attention as I am attempting to create a body shape and character design I have never tried before.
For reference and help, I have borrowed my classmate Megan's book on animal anatomy. to get a better idea of the skeletal structure and features of the Kea.
Over The Holiday I was unable to do any modelling, as I was out of the country. So I used this time to research more into how I would go about modelling, texturing and animating Kenny.
For the base Model I have as my 2D animatic show I am going with a more anthropomorphism character model for Kenny as I want him to have gesturing movement in his arms.
Texturing is going to be an issue as I am not sure how I will achieve a feathered look more research will need to be done into this.
the animation is something i am looking forward to i have decided to give Kenny 3 fingers in his feathers to be able to give Kenny a wider range of movement and expression. So started to day with some basic feather designs.

Trev Exhibition 2
For exhibition 2 my goal was to show off atleast 2 of my models but i was aiming for 3.
I was unable to complete my 3rd model in time for the exhibition as i ran into issues with my Trev Model.
Trying to make a lizard like body and face that takes reference from a Tuatara was difficult to do. I decided for the exhibition i submitted Trev along side Will but i was not happy with the final model but due to time constraints i had to to push a render.
Reviewing the render now i can see a lot f the flaws with my Trev model and where i need to improve.
- The face as much work as it was. it is very clear it is my first Zbrush modeled head and a reattempt is my best move forward.
- The body lacks any character and the arm proportions are off
- The Tail needs to be much bigger and fatter. and the spikes need to be more pronounced.'
I will be heading back from Germany tomorrow. my first goal is to get a base model for Kenny Underway and i will keep touching up my Trev model.
