Wills Going on the Farm
I put Will on the render farm last night to get a test render done.
There were a few areas that had weird dimples that i could not see in Maya.
Test renders like this are a useful tip i got from Phil. They give you a much more accurate idea of hat the model will look like in the final product.
I am Trying to speed through these renders as our exhibition is coming up and i don't want to get stuck with a render issue like last year. As i will be away over the semester break i am aiming to have my Will and Trev Models ready by this exhibition.
genre
Genres are broad enough to accommodate practically any film ever made,
"By isolating the various elements in a film and categorizing them in genres, it is possible to easily evaluate a film within its genre and allow for meaningful comparisons and some judgments on greatness."
All films have at least one major genre, although there are a number of films that are considered crossbreeds or hybrids with three or four overlapping genres (or sub-genre) types that identify them.
genres related to my work.
Satire Comedy:
Satirical comedy is the form of satire in which the writer uses comic elements to expose the realities of the society or any problem. The writer uses fictional characters to represent the real people, to expose and condemn their corruption. It intends to improve the problems of society by exposing them and by giving their solutions.
The writer uses irony, humour and exaggeration to show the follies and misdoings of the leaders. A writer can point out towards an individual, a society or even the whole world. Usually, it’s a comic piece of writing through which the shortcomings of the society can be shown to the world in the hope that those who are being criticized will change their characters by overcoming their weaknesses.

Troll Hunters
Plot:
I had come across this series on Netflix, and after watching the first season, I love it! I thought it is a really awesome show from DreamWorks.
The series is about a teenager named Jim Lake Jr., who had found an unusual amulet in the midst of a pile of rubble that was under the city bridge. In the evening, two trolls Blinky and AAARRRGGHH!!! came to Jim's house, and explain that the amulet had chosen him to be the first ever human "Trollhunter" a guardian who protects an underground world of trolls and gnomes from bad trolls. Also, the troll pair said that the rubble pile was the previous Trollhunter Kanjigar. As Jim tries to adapt to his new-found position with Blinky, AAARRRGGHH!!! and his best friend Toby's help, an evil plot is unfolding in the city of Arcadia, which would be hard to figure out who is friend or foe. That is all I know.
Review:
just finished watching Netflix Original Series of The Trollhunters series' based on Guillermo del Toro's book. The storyline is brilliant! There are plenty of twists & turns. Just when you think you know all the tricks, more pop up and surprise you. Being an animator myself, I really enjoyed the special effects. They were artistically done without overdoing it. The animation is wonderful with beautiful landscapes. The voice talent is especially stellar with Kelsey Grammar and Jonathan Hyde!

Auteur Theory
Started in the 1950s
An auteur is an artist, usually a film director, who applies a highly centralized and subjective control to many aspects of collaborative creative work; in other words, a person equivalent to an author of a novel or a play.
"The Auteur System can be contrasted to the genre system, in which films are rated on the basis of the expression of one person, usually the director, because his/her indelible style, authoring vision or 'signature' dictates the personality, look, and feel of the film. Certain directors (and actors) are known for certain types of films, for example, Woody Allen and comedy, the Arthur Freed unit with musicals, Alfred Hitchcock for suspense and thrillers, John Ford and John Wayne with westerns, or Errol Flynn for classic swashbuckler adventure films."
Cool Contrast Way to look at it.
list of Auteur:
Hayao Miyazaki:
His Work is clearly recognisable and has defined his work as a brand
Tarantino:
Tarantino writes and directs all his projects taking the lead position on all whole creative pipeline.
Glen Keane:
Glen Keane's started his career at Disney and built his reputation through Disney. In his later year, his reputation leads him to be able to take a more leader position on his projects.
Walt Disney
The Man Who defined the Disney style. He was acting executive produce for many of Disney's early work putting input into all aspects of the film process.

VR
•Am
I engaged in the story the way I am in a traditional film?
Invasion: I was very engaged into this animation the way the rabbit moves around the enviroment helps lead you to action in a none forceful way. I felt this was compelling short that kept me entertained.
Son of Jaguar: I was almost immediately put off by the 3D visuals of Son of Jaguar. There was a signal point of action and the VR is merely there as a selling point.

•Which
films do a better job of “immersing” me in the story?
Invasion was a true immersion of the viewer into the scene the animation plays around the viewer.

•What techniques do the filmmakers use to engage me in the story?
The complete integration of the viewer into the scene the animation and events of the film play out around you.

•Would
you ever make a film in VR 360 degrees?
Why or why not?
I would never make a VR film. I feel it is more of a utility tool for learning animations more than film tool.
Will Being Put together. Starting his Head
Breaking will down into a segment at.a time has actually paid off.
I was able to pump this model out relatively quickly and I am happier with it than Trev.
Reviewing Trev.
Looking over my trev model I still have work to do but I will leave this for my holiday and just aim at getting some models out for my exhibition and 3D animatic.

Dragon Prince
Dragon Prince
Review:
The Dragon Prince is awesome. It has a highly entertaining story, clever humour, interesting characters, and tons of beautiful art. It also takes cues from some of the best elements in Avatar: the Last Airbender, and manages to make them feel fresh and uniquely it's own.
The lore and setting of The Dragon Prince have much to offer as well. Featuring a medieval setting with magic, knights, assassins, and, of course, dragons! There's so much to enjoy in The Dragon Prince.
Story:
The series is set in a fantasy world on the continent of Xadia, which is rich with magic derived from six primal elements. However, the humans - who could not utilize primal magic - discovered the use of dark magic, which is fueled by the life essence of animals and magical creatures. As a consequence, they were driven off by the dragons and elves of Xadia to the other end of the continent, where they founded the human kingdom. The Breach, the border between the two halves of the continent, was guarded by the king of dragons. After humans killed the dragon king and his egg. The elves attempt to assassinate the human king his heir, the young prince Ezran, as revenge for the egg's destruction. One among the elves, the young Rayla, along with Ezra and his older half-brother Callum, discovers that the dragon king's egg wasn't in fact destroyed, but stolen by the court mage. Together they undertake the three undertake a quest to return the egg to his mother.
Wills Segmented Modeling Process experiment
Since will is basically a suit of armour i thought why not attempt modeling him.as one.
By this i mean i will model will in segments at attach these togethere. Rjis was something i am curiose to try.
The resason for this is it breaks Will down into visible tasks making it alot easier for me to prioratize a task/part at a time. Hoping this help with project and time management.
